Spring 2026 KSH Consulting Strategy Retreat: How Company Retreats Support Team Alignment and Growth

The KSH Consulting team, including myself, Tim Vosse, Alexandria Lueth, and Rachel Olmstead, recently had our 2026 Spring Strategy Retreat focusing on how we will continue to serve our clients and operate as a team. These retreats can be great tools for stepping back and aligning while keeping things very practical and working together to ensure everyone has the tools, resources, and support they need to show up for clients.

Retreat Focus

Specifically for this retreat, we spent a lot of time focusing on what makes KSH Consulting different, how we can support each other, and how we can continue to take care of our clients. We really dug into how we operate as a team, the things that make us great at what we do, and how we can support more organizations without losing the relationship-first approach that’s so important to us.

We also worked through some real-life scenarios – things like stepping into struggling finance teams, managing multiple client demands, and how we prioritize as CFOs in those environments.

How Retreats Can Help Your Team

Especially with the rise in remote-first work arrangements, many companies are experiencing issues with internal engagement and connection. Retreats bring employees together and allow them to interact in ways they wouldn’t necessarily have the opportunity to in a typical work day. Both informal (like sharing meals or chatting in the hallway) and more structured interactions (like group brainstorming exercises) that take place during these retreats help encourage connection, boosting teamwork and workplace environment upon return to business as usual.

Retreats can improve collaboration and communication, but they can also provide a potentially much-needed step back that lets employees reset and return feeling recharged, more energized, and less stressed. This can lead to more creativity and productivity.

Retreats are also a great way to get on – or ensure you stay on – the same page. As with our recent retreat, these events aren’t just social gatherings. They typically have a clear focus, letting your team work together and come to an agreement about how you’ll move forward. This alignment makes sure everyone understands the goals for the upcoming term and has the tools they need to do their part in helping the company achieve those goals.

A well-structured, focused retreat can help improve productivity, team dynamics, and overall organizational success.
